Return of WKA Manufacturer’s Cup Highlights 2011 BeaveRun Karting Schedule
Wampum, PA (November 16, 2010) – BeaveRun MotorSports Complex has assembled a stellar 2011 karting calendar featuring a 14 race BeaveRun Championship Karting Series schedule plus a host of National and Regional action Highlighted by the long awaited return of the WKA Manufacturer’s Cup Series.
The BRCKS schedule consists of eight single race weekends and three of the popular double-header events during the summer months. Each of the single race weekends will also include an open practice on the second weekend day.
The season kicks off with a rare Saturday stand alone race on May 7th, the day before Mothers Day. The Series then runs every other weekend through early July including the first double-header weekend June 5-6.
Three straight weekends of serious racing starts when the WKA Great Lakes Sprint Series returns to the Western Pennsylvania track June 25-26. The BeaveRun locals will be out in force to defend their home turf against the best the region has to offer in what has become one of the most anticipated WKA Regional races each year. Following the GLSS weekend will be a BRCKS double-header July 2-3 offering two complete days of racing action.
BeaveRun then welcomes the George Kugler/Bridgestone Manufacturer’s Cup Series presented by Mazda back to Western Pennsylvania for the weekend of July 8-10. This is expected to be a record setting event for BeaveRun due in part to it being four long years since the Series last visited the .82 mile, 17 turn Wilson Circuit as well as the fact that it is the only summer date in the five race series.
Trailer and equipment storage will be made available for those racers wishing to run multiple events in this three race weekend stretch.
The schedule resumes at a slightly less hectic pace with BRCKS race #8 on July 24 followed by the last double-header of the year August 13-14. BRCKS events run every other week then for the remainder of the year concluding with the always popular Great Pumpkin race. The Tenth Anniversary of this two day non-points event will feature plenty of racing and fun including Trailer Trick-or-Treating, Team Relay Races, Saturday Dinner and Reverse Direction races.
As is the case each season at BeaveRun, a few twists are thrown in the mix including reverse direction racing at two of the BRCKS points events – August 14 and September 25. Also, the final race of the season will be a Double-Feature event with two full length points races. Select events will also feature a bonus race for the class with the highest number of entries. This will be a non-points dash-for-cash (or prizes) format featuring an alternate configuration such as the Outer Loop, Short Track or Oval.
The Championship will consist of a driver’s best twelve finishes allowing for three drops among the fifteen races (14 events, 2 points races at the final event). Racers competing in at least ten races will be eligible for the year end awards.
Two additional WKA Nationals punctuate the 2011 schedule as the Vega Speedway Pavement Series takes to the BeaveRun Oval August 20-21 and then the Russell Karting Gold Cup Series returns for 4-cycle sprint action on the Wilson Circuit October 1-2.
