BeaveRun MotorSports ComPlex and MTM Kart Announce Debut of BeaveRun Karting School

March 7, 2003 (Big Beaver Borough, PA) - BeaveRun MotorSports ComPlex, the country's fastest-growing, multi-use destination for motorsports enthusiasts and MTM Kart, a leader in karting instruction and program development, have announced the formation of the BeaveRun Karting School. The new school is based at the BeaveRun Karting Center, one of only three facilities in the country to feature a track designed to meet the stringent specifications of Commission International du Karting (CIK), the sport's global sanctioning organization. The BeaveRun Karting School offers four different programs, combining classroom and track instruction, as well as Corporate Adventure programs for team-building, reward and entertainment needs.

"Karting delivers thrills and fun for novices, provides a safe competitive outlet for serious driving enthusiasts, and is the grooming ground for tomorrow's racing stars," said Tim Silbaugh, co-founder of BeaveRun MotorSports CompPlex. "It's our goal to help grow the sport and that's why we're especially pleased to partner with some of the most respected and experienced instructors in the business."

The heart of the BeaveRun Karting Center is a challenging 18-turn 8/10-mile sprint track, the Wilson Circuit, recently recognized as an official World Karting Association (WKA) Master Track. The track features rarely seen elevation changes, plenty of passing areas, challenging corners and a unique design that allows ten different racing configurations. It is the site of several national and regional races, including the WKA Ultramax Racing Speedway Pavement Series-Pro Kart National, April 25-27, the CART Stars of Tomorrow series, May 2- 4, recognized as the premier series for developing racing talent, and the WKA Horstman Gold Cup National, August 9-10.

Learn How to Kart or Learn How to Win

With nearly 90% of all professional racers-from Formula One, CART and IRL to NASCAR-getting their start in kart racing at a young age, and nearly 2 million individuals enjoying the sport around the world, karting is rapidly gaining in popularity. Learning the basics is low-cost and easy, especially when combined with seasoned instructors and a world-class facility.

The one-day BeaveRun Beginners Karting School is designed to teach the basics. Safety, control and technique are stressed during the classroom and on track sessions as the student learns kart control. This school is suitable for children as young as five years, or for anyone who has had little or no time behind the wheel of a kart.

For drivers with some karting experience, the one-day BeaveRun Advanced School adds racing techniques to the program.

The BeaveRun Elite Karting School gives drivers more personal, one-on-one interaction with the instructor. In this school, the student learns about chassis set-up, advanced race techniques and advanced racing theory. This school is primarily for experienced drivers who want to win on a regional or national level.

Drivers who enroll in the Advanced or Elite schools can also add PI Research Data Acquisition. For an additional fee, a PI System 1 data logger is added to the kart, which provides precise data for each karting session. The data is then downloaded to a laptop and the instructors analyze it with the student during the post-session debrief.

Karting School participants may use the school provided karts or choose to bring along their own karts for assistance in fine-tuning their setup.

The BeaveRun Karting School also offers a variety of team-based Corporate Adventures, ideally suited for companies or organizations that want to host memorable employee, customer or client events. These programs combine skill-building with a fun, competitive ending, and are rewarding and entertaining for people of all ages and driving skills.
